Asylum seeker gushes about graduating from South African university

A man has taken to social media to gush about how he came to the country as an asylum seeker and is now a graduate.

Clovis Dusabe shared that he has successfully completed his nursing degree. He congratulated all of this year's matriculants and encouraged them to work hard.

Dusabe shared his post on Twitter and Mzansi social media users congratulated him. The UKZN nursing student posted his November exam results with the caption:

"Came to South Africa as an asylum seeker, wrote my matric in 2015, enrolled at UKZN for Bachelor of Nursing in 2016 despite financial difficulties. Against all odds, my degree has been completed. To all matriculants who have made it: Congratulations!"

He went on to say that he would never forget all the brothers and sisters from across SA who he met while at UKZN.

"They helped me settle in; they were always keen to know about my roots and we had meaningful conversations... Whenever it will be time to return home, I will always be proud of how amazing UKZN is."
