Local media personality, Somizi Mhlongo-Motaung, answered a Twitter user’s plea for help, recently.
It has become a norm for tweeps to ask celebrities for help, and some like Boityumelo Thulo, almost often always lends a helping hand. This time, Idols SA judge, Somizi heeded the call for help.
A Twitter user known by her handle, @Rough¬¬¬_Ts, reached out to the Idols SA judge at the weekend, and he responded. @Rough_Ts asked for a small donation towards transport money for his first day at his new merchandising job.
He tweeted: “@somizi I know it’s not ideal however I’m in desperate need for assistance. I recently got a job as a merchandiser at Dikgabo di Kopane which I’m starting on the 6th of January 2020 (Monday). I’m in need of R36 just to make it to my first day, thanks in advance.”
Somizi replied to the tweet, and said he would like to help and asked the user to direct message him with his phone number so he can send some money to him.
This random act of kindness follows Boity urging South Africans to help each other after she came to the aid of a Twitter user who asked for two pairs of jeans for his new job last week.

Meanwhile, four days ago, Briefly.co.za reported that with 2020 kicking off a fresh start to a new decade, many celebs are feeling positive about the year ahead.
Somizi is one of them and he's made up his mind: he won't stand for anything negative from social media trolls. Using a funny video clip to bring the message home, Somizi announced that he would block anyone who upsets him.
Somizi's fans are totally feeling his vibes - they agree that they will also be hitting that block button. Ain't no one going to rain on his parade this year, that's for sure!
