- Kaizer Chiefs' lead in the Absa Premiership has been reduced to four points only
- Despite this, Daniel Cardoso insists that Chiefs aren't concerned about Sundowns and the chasing pack
- Sundowns will be hoping to reduce the margin to just one point when they take on Bidvest Wits
Kaizer Chiefs boasted a seemingly unassailable lead in the Absa Premiership not long ago.
However, thanks to the tenacity and fighting spirit shown by Mamelodi Sundowns, that lead has been reduced to a meagre four points.
Despite this, Chiefs defender Daniel Cardoso remains bullish and insisted that the players are remaining calm.
A calm Cardoso said, “The moment you start to worry about the team behind you, that is when you start to lose focus."
Daily Sun reported that Cardoso and company aren't thinking about the chasing pack.
The tough-as-nails defender added: "We are not thinking about Sundowns or thinking about winning the league title."
Although the former Free State Stars player remains confident, one can't help but wonder what impact a further lead reduction would have on Chiefs' morale.
Briefly.co.za noted that Sundowns can slash the margin even further to a solitary point.
The Brazilians will get the opportunity on Tuesday, but they face a tough encounter against Bidvest Wits.
Chiefs, on the other hand, are set for battle on Wednesday when they line up against Highlands Park.
