Kaizer Chiefs are celebrating their 50th birthday and various members of the footballing fraternity are wishing them well.
It may come as a surprise to some, but Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane jumped on the bandwagon and congratulated Chiefs on their impressive achievement.
In a touching tweet, Mosimane lavished praise on Chiefs chairman Kaizer Motaung on Tuesday.
The Downs tactician lauded Motaung for building the "football brand and institution".
The heartfelt message invoked a strong reaction from football fans.
Briefly.co.za noted that some admired Mosimane extending the olive branch, while others questioned his motives.
Baldwinphoko (@Baldwinphoko7) seemed unimpressed:
"Pitso you are not doing this, but deep inside of your heart we know exactly that you don't like Kaizer Chiefs."
AlanSithole (@alan_sithole) shared a conspiracy theory:
"He knows that only his Sundowns fans would react positively to the hypocrisy. So this was in a way to try and get em to comment and start clapping for him. Sadly for him some of us don't buy it."
Eric (@eric39843762) appreciated the gesture:
"As Kaizer Chiefs fan i really appreciate that...Sir Pitso khosi 4life."
Mapogo Arthur Maboya (@MapogoArthur) added,
"Coach my coach what a sportsman . In him we are led. All the best for tonight's game against Gavin Hunt."
