Kaizer Chiefs are celebrating their 50th birthday and various members of the footballing fraternity are wishing them well.

It may come as a surprise to some, but Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane jumped on the bandwagon and congratulated Chiefs on their impressive achievement.

In a touching tweet, Mosimane lavished praise on Chiefs chairman Kaizer Motaung on Tuesday.

The Downs tactician lauded Motaung for building the "football brand and institution".

The heartfelt message invoked a strong reaction from football fans.

"He knows that only his Sundowns fans would react positively to the hypocrisy. So this was in a way to try and get em to comment and start clapping for him. Sadly for him some of us don't buy it."
