Lady Gaga recently opened up to Oprah Winfrey about her mental health struggles.
The Alejandro hit-maker said she has struggled with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) since she was raped at 19 years old.
Lady Gaga said she'd like to do her part in removing the stigma associated with taking medication for mental health.
She said, “Faith, inspiration, hope, and, I also have to say, and I know that this is controversial in a lot of ways: medicine really helped me.
“I think a lot of people are afraid of medicine for their brains to help them, and I really want to erase the stigma around this. I am sick of saying it over and over and over again.”
Gaga revealed that she has also used different forms of therapy to help her heal.
As a survivor of rape herself, Oprah was incredibly touched by Gaga's story.
The two brave women embraced on stage after the emotional interview.
