Local man warns Mzansi about texting and driving after car crash

A man has taken to social media to warn others against texting and driving after he got into a car accident. He posted a picture of the damaged car and said he was lucky to be alive. Some social media users warned him to take the post down as his insurance company would likely see it.

Twitter user Shonie_SA shared the picture of the damaged car along with the caption:

"Just crashed my car this morning because of a cell phone. Guys please don't text while driving you might end up learning the hard way like I did. Thank God for sparing my life"

His post went viral on social media with over 2 000 likes. Twitter user DjKabaza saidL

"Will the insurance not give you a tough time if you post such on social media?"

ChegoPhillip said:

Beemer_Man said:

"And now your insurance will see this and not payout due to you being on your phone #CarefulWhatYouPost #TheyAreWatching"

The man responded by saying that he had no insurance because he believed it was a scam. Twitter user Prof_Erence said:

"Cellphone is a big distraction, 2 years ago nearly knock down a pedestrian because of a phone. Let’s refrain from texting while driving"
