Renowned actress Florence Masebe has opened up about her tough journey of recovery from a serious asthma attack.

The much-loved actress landed up in hospital when she suffered a serious asthma attack in February 2019.

Florence says the recovery process was gruelling and took most of the year.

She revealed that she had to wear a mask to avoid infecting others and couldn't walk for longer than five minutes without needing her inhaler.

She tweeted, "There was also a time when I lay in ICU for days because my lungs had had enough of the baggage my soul was carrying."

“Recovery from that near-fatal asthma attack has been long and hard. I’m truly thankful to be here now."

Florence says she can now exercise twice a day and her breathing is much improved.

Florence's celeb friends appear to have supported her through the process.

On her Instagram page, she is seen with Basetsana Khumalo, Phemelo Motene and Sthandiwe Msomi.
