South African veteran actress, Vatiswa Ndara, has called on movie mogul and prominent figure in Hollywood, Tyler Perry, to host his own award ceremonies.

Her opinion on this comes as people have started to complain more loudly over the main award events such as the Golden Globes, Baftas and Oscars overlooking black talent.

These awards are labelled 'lily-white' by unhappy peeps and Vatiswa thinks she has the solution if Tyler Perry would comply. The awards could be called 'The Tylers'.

Briefly.co.za gathered that unhappiness over the colour issue with awards has been going on for years and the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite was born as a result.

As reported on by TimesLIVE, no persons of colour were nominated in any of the Oscar nominations.

Earlier, it was reported that Tyler Perry opened his own film and TV studio in Atlanta. It was a dream come true for the celeb and it's like the whole world is proud of him.

Tyler's state-of-the-art studio is built on a former army base and covers 134 hectares

Tyler Perry Studios may be his biggest achievement so far, it's the first-ever black-owned studio, and the opening gala was attended by some of the most famous faces in Hollywood.
