On 6 January, prominent businessman Richard Maponya passed away at the age of 99. His funeral service took place on Tuesday at the University of Johannesburg's (UJ's) Soweto campus.
President Cyril Ramaphosa, his wife, Thabo Mbeki and Kgalema Motlanthe were some of the high-profile guests who attended the special funeral.
Taking to social media, the presidency posted three photos of President Ramaphosa and his wife arriving at the funeral.

Minister of Transport Fikile Mbalula also posted snaps of the funeral.
A video also surfaced online showing members of the SAPS carrying Maponya's coffin into the UJ Soweto Campus' Imbizo Hall.
Briefly.co.za earlier reported that infamous artist Rasta also made an appearance at the funeral. A photo has gone viral showing Rasta's portrait of Maponya and Mzansi was in impressed.
Many said Rasta has gotten better and some made jokes about what could be credited for his sudden improvement.
