On Tuesday evening, the Kaizer Chiefs announced the departure of Lorenzo Gordinho and James Kotei.
Briefly.co.za learned that Gordinho has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Absa Premiership rival, Bidvest Wits.
Kotei and the Chiefs reportedly had a "mutual agreement" to terminate his contract.

Kaizer Chiefs fans were not happy about losing the players, especially Gordinho - whom they believed would have been a key player in the new season.
Twitter user, @Thuthu_Dlomo, commented:
"But we might be playing in CAF next year so we need Gordinho."
Another tweep, @Blahk_Wolf, added:
"Good luck Gordinho, I disagree with Chiefs on the decision because we're going to play CAF next season but all the best."
Romeo Simelane, who goes by the Twitter handle @Romeo_Simelane, wrote:
"I don’t understand why Chiefs sold Lorenzo, especially to Wits after Gavin Hunt was quoted saying that he will never sell any player to Chiefs. Moreover, we might play CAF we need all possible potions at the back. I’m sad about this one."
