South Africans were left stunned over the high annual tuition fees for some of SA's top private boarding schools.
On Wednesday, while all the parents were sending their kids to school on the first school day of 2020, Twitter parody account Man's Not Barry Roux decided to drop some info on the social media platform.
The Twitter influencer shared the annual costs of attending one of South Africa's top private boarding schools.
According to his post, Hilton College is the most expensive school, coming in at R322 000 annually, followed by Michealhouse - which sets parents back R304 000 in 2020.
South Africans were shocked over the high school fees and some reacted with hilarious memes. Briefly.co.za took a look at some of the reactions the post gathered.
Twitter user, @balty_sipho, commented:
"The sad thing here is that a normal person or ordinary worker's salary in South Africa is R90 000 per (year) how are they going to be able to afford such school fees? It simply shows by design the good education is for those from the elite not for the poor majority of our people."
