Popular Xitsonga artist Benny Mayangani has announced that he is withdrawing from the SABC's Munghana Lonene Xitsonga Music Awards.
Benny believes the awards harmed his brand instead of uplifting it.
The musician cites proof of this as the fact that he failed to fill up Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane last year.

The awards were relaunched last month with a new nomination process were people must SMS their preferred nominees.
Benny manager, King Chauke, told Daily Sun the awards is using their brand to attract people while they benefit nothing from it, hence their decision to disassociate.
SABC spokeswoman Vuyo Mthembu said the broadcaster is aware of Benny’s withdrawal and wishes him well.
