Beloved Hollywood star, Betty White, is turning 98 and doesn't look a day over 70-something.

The actress can be proud of the life she has lived so far - one of many memories filled with laughter.

According to ABC7, Betty credits many things for her long life, including her love for vodka, hotdogs and her animals.

She feels that her optimistic attitude is what has kept her looking so youthful - you won't often see her without a cheeky smile.

Parade Magazine quoted Betty as saying:

"I know it sounds corny, but I try to see the funny side and the upside, not the downside. I get bored with people who complain about this or that. It's such a waste of time."

Betty has been in the entertainment industry for more than 75 years and has been making people laugh for all of it.

Briefly.co.za gathered that when she became a producer of Life with Elizabeth, she was one of the first women in Hollywood to do so.

Betty has 24 Emmy nominations and eight wins to boast of after her illustrious career.

For her previous birthday, Betty chose to play poker with some friends whom she had known for decades.

She's not one for a big bash, it seems.
