As kids headed back to school, a serious debate was sparked on social media. A schoolgirl was sent home for having braids that were too long.

This got peeps talking - many felt that it was unnecessary for her to cut off the hair as it doesn't influence her academics.

The young lady's hair hung at her knees and the braids were brown - there were also complaints about the colour.

Others felt that she should adhere to the school rules as this teaches discipline. Major League, local DJ duo, agreed that the girl should have her hair cut shorter.

According to the musicians, the student should remember that she is in school now. There are rules that need to be obeyed. Briefly.co.za noticed that hey also mentioned that the skirt should be changed. Many feel it is way too short.

"This is school. Let’s not forget that."

While the debate is likely to continue for a long time, the musos have had their say. Whether anyone will actually take it to heart isn't clear.
