Viewers of the popular Mzansi Magic soapie, The Queen, are in for a shock as two of its most popular characters are leaving.

Sunday World confirmed that Rami Chuene and Setumo Motsoaledi will soon no longer be part of the cast on The Queen.

Rami's character, Gracious Mabuza, is going to be killed off.

Sources confirmed that she will die after being hit on the head by a bottle.

It's said that the relationship between Rami and producers of the show, Connie and Shona Ferguson, has been tense ever since Rami publicly sided with Vatiswa Ndara against the Fergusons.

Briefly.co.za reported that veteran actress, Vatiswa, opened up to social media about the terrible treatment she received when she worked on one of the Fergusons' productions.

Rami had Vatiswa's back on social media and sources say she also often went toe-to-toe with the Fergusons on set as well.

Behind the scenes, Rami often took the younger actors' sides and was loud when it came to matters of unfair labour practises.

Sources told Sunday World that Setumo chose to leave for similar reasons.

A source said, "She was no longer happy at the soapie, especially with the treatment meted out to other actors by both the production team and the soapie owners."

When called for comment, Rami said, “I don’t want to comment. Don’t involve me in your drama.”

Setumo and the Fergusons also refused to comment.

Lasty year, Briefly.co.za reported that SK Khoza left 'The Queen' to join another Ferguson production, 'The Kings of Joburg'.
