South Africans were shocked by the footage and many condemned the driver's actions. However, there were those who had jokes.

Social media user, @ChangeAgentSA, wrote:

"And then innocent lives are lost and destroyed through a tragic accident unpacking other drivers on the road, because someone felt like a man driving like a maniac on the freeway! Speed kills. It Doesn't make you a man."

Another tweep, @Mancayi_Viwe, commented:

"Go test it in designated test routes not in public road sir."

According to The South African, the Gauteng Traffic Police released a statement on the footage, revealing they are looking for the motorist. However, the cops added it might not be easy to apprehend the driver.

The statement added:

“These criminals arrogantly show off because very few – if anyone at all – will expose their identity and then go on to provide evidence or witness testimony that will result in conviction. Nobody has come forward with verifiable identification in the Midrand case, and we couldn’t detect a legible licence plate.”
