- The US Space Force has unveiled its official camouflage uniforms
- Americans, however, mocked the force, saying camouflage is not appropriate
- The force, however, explained that the choice of the camouflage was to save "costs of designing/producing a new one"
Just a month after being launched by President Donald Trump, the United States Space Force has become a subject of mockery on social media, particularly Twitter.
Briefly.co.za notes that the Space Force's official uniform, which it unveiled in a Twitter post over the weekend, is the reason behind the mockery by Americans.
The uniform in the picture has a woodland camouflage design with badges embroidered on the arm and chest.
Twitter users, however, found the camouflage uniform absurd for a force that operates in space.
Note that camouflage is specifically designed to assist the military blend in with their surroundings. Thus, designing such for the Force operating in space where there is nothing to blend in with becomes inappropriate.
A Twitter user, JRehling, illustrated the difference between space and the camouflage.
Another Twitter user, Liz Davis, questioned the force's motive of adopting camouflage by the Space Force and even the need for the force.
Davis tweeted: "What’s the point in wearing camouflage in space? What’s the point of Space Force at all?"
James Felton, a comedy writer, also rhetorically asked how many trees the force expected to find in space.
"How many trees are you expecting to find in space," he tweeted.

The force, however, later explained the choice of the camouflage uniform in another tweet.
According to Space Force, the choice of the camo was to save "costs of designing/producing a new one".
Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za previously reported that the legal team of President Trump released its first formal response to the impeachment charges levelled against their client, calling it a “dangerous attack” on democracy.
According to a document released by the legal team, the impeachment articles do not apportion any crime and are just an attempt to interfere with the 2020 presidential elections.
The team which was led by White House counsel, Pat Cipollone and Trump’s personal lawyers, Jay Sekulow, said they are challenging the ground on which the president was impeached by the House.
