Briefly.co.za reported on Wednesday that Julius Malema visited the family of Enoch Mpianzi to pay respects and offer the EFF's help in getting justice for the late Grade 8 pupil.
The EFF shared videos and photos of the visit and one image has sparked a debate on social media.
The photo has been shared by several tweeps and it let to social media users either dragging the EFF leader of defending him.
Twitter parody account, @AdvNgcukaitobi, shared the pic and captioned it:
"Who takes pictures when the family is grieving and have lost their child? Malema is an opportunist. What he did was absolutely wrong!"
Many slammed Juju over the photo, accusing him of trying to score political points at the expense of a grieving family, while others defended the EFF leader.
Thabo Moetji, who goes by the Twitter handle @thabomoetji, commented:
"This completely unethical, immoral, uncultured, worse inhuman. Support could have been done away from the third eye of the media. But as usual, Julius Malema is more interested in theatrics and exploiting other people's pain to gain more votes from some unquestioning black people."
