- Ayanda Borotho portrays the part of a woman in a polygamous marriage on Isibaya
- However, it is obvious such an arrangement is something the actress would never consider in real life
- On the topic of polygamy she writes, “We are out here trying to be the main one instead of the only one"
Actress Ayanda Borotho is not here for polygamy at all.
Ayanda said she doesn't understand how any woman would fight to be the main woman instead of the only woman in her man's life.
The star tuned in to Mzansi Magic's new show on the practise, Mnakwethu.
The show is hosted by businessman and reality TV star Musa Mseleku, who is also a polygamist, and documents married men taking the journey into polygamy.
Upon viewing the show Ayanda said, “I have no intentions of disrespecting the choices other women make, but this is what I write about in my book, cultural indoctrination that has us women by the b***s!”
“We are out here trying to be the main one instead of the only one. Sihlezi siqhathwa! Nathi sivume! (We are constantly being misled! And we agree to it!) Can we, women, start belonging to ourselves first before trying to 'fit' into a man who's not even our size.”
Ayanda's followers agreed with the opinionated entrepreneur and author:
"They say never say never kodwa mina (as i touch my chest) i will never fall for this, no matter the circumstances"
"This show is so sad...Ithini lento kanti??? Even men who claim to be a 100% happy with current wife bafuna second wives (always much younger than the first one, by the way)"
