Hugh Masekela is a natural treasure, and he is greatly missed, along with his music that can reach right into a person's soul.
He passed away on 23 January 2018, and the country took a moment to mourn him with tributes shared on social media.
Hugh's son, Salema 'Sal' Masekela, also penned down a message in which he poured out his heart.
The words that Sal shared resonated with his followers, whose hearts were moved by what the young man had to say.

"January 23rd, 2020. Two Years. Sometimes it feels like you’ve been gone 2 days. Others it feels like 20 years. There is no rhyme or reason to it. It doesn’t hurt more.
"It doesn’t hurt less. What intensifies is the love. Deepens in ways unfathomable before. A beautiful thing.
"May we all find ways to exhaust every breath of this life with half the passion and childlike drive you exhibited till the end of your journey here. I know you’re doing it times 1,000,000 on the other side. I joyfully miss you, man."
