The sad reality is that police officers have a bad reputation and South Africans have a negative perception of the boys in blue.
Recently, Briefly.co.za shared a damning report of another drunk cop who was caught on camera.
However, there are many who take their commitment to Mzansi's people very seriously and the South African Police Service honoured them at the 2020 National Excellence Awards.

One of his highlights was the arrest of a high-profile gang leader while Blundin was off duty.
Acting on a hunch, he pursued a suspicious vehicle and a shootout ensued. As a result of his bravery, the arrest could be made and it also led to the recovery of 18 firearms.
Blundin was named as the laureate winner of the year and walked away with a brand new vehicle.
In accepting his award, Blundin said:
“I feel very excited and at the same time I’m very grateful to the Lord for giving me this opportunity to win such an award and a brand new vehicle. I would like to encourage my fellow colleagues in the SAPS not to give up on their goals but instead to push through until they reach the top. Let us all continue to strive to make South Africa a safer place."
SAPS shared the great news via Facebook and social media users heaped praise on the fearless officer.
Innocent Tk Mahlangu said,
"I am really impressed, this is a motivation to the Saps members."
Kobus Lategan added,
"I know a few members in Jhb that also operates Big time and are on the same level. God Speed to all. Great work."
