Tributes have been coming in thick and fast for the late basketball icon Kobe Bryant.
Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that Minister of Transport Fikile Mbalula shared a beautiful throwback photo of the late sports star.
Many other iconic photos have been shared, but Senegalese painter Bou Bou has taken things to the next level.
The African artist is renowned for his paintings using unconventional materials and this time used a basketball hoop to draw a portrait of Bryant.
In a time lapse video, the artist can be seen doing the amazing portrait upside down.
Despite not using an actual paintbrush, the portrait displays incredible detail.
Twitter user Darren Rovell (@darrenrovell) shared the video and its gone viral, being viewed nearly 2 million times.
Briefly.co.za noted the reaction and while there was a degree of scepticism, most appreciated the wonderful talent on display.
Captain SafeTake (@PardonMyBurner) said,
"Some people are so talented it’s crazy. But don’t show off just paint it with a paint brush."
Robin L (@RobinLuvsDisney) responded,
"No. It’s more personal and fitting to use the tools of the person being painted and honored. I bet he could do Tom Brady’s with a football. Anyone can paint with a brush."
OK Boomer (@RandomTodd1) shared a controversial perspective:
"It’s sad when you have to use someone else’s death to promote yourself."
