Two Johannesburg Metro Police officers are under investigation after a video surfaced online showing them getting physical with a taxi driver.

The footage have circulated online this week but the JMPD could not yet confirm where or when the incident took place.

According to a report by News24, JMPD spokesperson Senior Superintendent Wayne Minnaar the clip sparked a probe into the situation but they could not act against the cops until the complete story has been revealed.

"We cannot act against the officers, because we don't have all the facts. The officers are being investigated. When we get all the facts, we will release a statement," said Minnaar.

Johan Nel added:

"Stuff the taxi driver before giving the cop hassles. Ask the driver what he did, the taxis got no respect for the law."
