- The former leader of the Democratic Alliance, Mmusi Maimane, has bit back at the party's interim leader, John Steenhuisen
- Steenhuisen mentioned that he thinks the DA, under Maimane's leadership, focused too much on 'bashing' the ANC
- Maimane warned Steenhuisen to refrain from talking about him, or things would not end well
Mmusi Maimane got spicy when he learnt that DA interim leader, John Steenhuisen, mentioned him.
Maimane was clearly not impressed and called his former comrade a traitor and warned him that 'it would not end well', should Steenhuisen continue to talk about him.
According to Steenhuisen, the party was too focused on 'bashing' the ANC, and this is what prompted Maimane's response on Twitter.
Maimane also had to say something to defend his opinions while he was leader of the DA.
"The previous administration was dismal. All opposition parties were critical of the ANC under Zuma. A key element of being leader of the opposition is to show the deficiencies in the ruling party.
"Judas Steenhuisen was in full agreement with our approach. Someone should tell Judas Steenhusien to keep my name out of his mouth.
"It won’t end well for him. Just focus on your work and I will focus on my work. He must ask Cachalia."
Of course, South Africans noticed and soon Maimane was trending on social media. Briefly.co.za noticed that some peeps were impressed with what was said, while others thought the whole thing was childish.
"Steenhuisen please do your maths homework and leave MMUSI alone. He is indeed a judas mcm."
"Name-calling, how mature. Judas? You are not the Messiah hey."
"Judas Steenhuisen must know that we are NOT SCARED OF HIM."
"Lol "we are not scared of him". Nawe Mbawo ngikwethemba you've adopted this line of speaking. I call it EFFism."
"I'm rooting for you yazi, dzaddy!!! Tell them!!"
"You sound like Juju now."
"Hello? Adults should know two wrongs don't make a right."
"I love THIS Mmusi. He’s now a POLITICIAN."
