- Lusanda said that pretending that you're alright when you're close to breaking is dangerous
In today's world, it is expected of people to be strong and not show their emotions freely, even when they're not doing well.
Lusanda Mbane, known and loved for her role as Boniswa Langa on Scandal!, recently told her fans that it's okay to not be okay.
She also opened up about not being at her best herself, and how she's taken time to cry, Briefly.co.za noticed.
She poured her heart out in a post in which she admitted that she called her husband only to start crying.
"I called my husband, and as soon as he said 'hello', I started crying uncontrollably... I battled to get the words out, except to say 'I'm having such a sh*t day'..."
Lusanda also added that it's not good to keep your feelings bottled up inside just to be strong.
"The danger of being viewed as the strong one is that you try to keep this up, even at times when you yourself are uncomfortably close to breaking point.
"So I have chosen to allow myself the next few hours as hours of weakness. I will cry, I will be needy. It's OK not to be OK."
