Before he released Iyeza in 2018, Anatii released a collab album with AKA in 2017. It was titled Don’t Forget To Pray and fans heard Anatii rapping in his native language, which is Xhosa.
AKA says it was his idea for Anatii to do that, Briefly.co.za learnt. During a recent interview, the rapper said he questioned why Anatii was only doing things in English.
According to Supa Mega, he also got Yanga to write for Anatii.
"You know I’m the one who got Anatii to rap in Xhosa? I’m the one who said ‘Dude, why are you rapping in English, rap in your language’. Do you know that Yanga actually wrote ‘Akabambeki kana hayi lowoUbambelela on the styrofoam‘… Yanga wrote that cause I called Yanga and I was like ‘Yo, please can you activate this man’s juice?' "
AKA also said he had a lot of respect for Anatii and felt that he was like a little brother, even if they didn't always get along.
AKA is one of Mzansi's biggest artists and he is respected in the industry. No wonder Anatii listened when he suggested the Xhosa thing.
AKA has built a successful career in the hip-hop industry that has seen him break records and set new ones.
He recently celebrated his 32nd birthday - reminding us that he achieved a lot for someone of his age.
