Following the death of Gianna Bryant, her school, Harbor Day School, has presented a touching tribute to the star athlete.
According to Complex, students, faculty and teachers presented the tribute on Wednesday, 5 February.
Briefly.co.za gathers that Gianna's middle school basketball coaches shared some anecdotes that highlighted her commitment to the sport.
One of the coaches announced the retirement of Gianna's jersey number 2.
The coach said:
"She will be the last person to wear the No. 2 for a Seahawks basketball team."
"We hope that when you look at her jersey hanging in our gym, you will remember Gianna and be inspired to work hard and be passionate about whatever your interest is."
Gianna's music teacher Yunga Webb said the star athlete was humble despite being affiliated and close to major contributors of the world.
According to her, Gianna never engaged in trivial conversations that were not positive. She said Gianna stayed positive, adding that she will always remember her for that.
Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za previously reported that since the death of legendary basketball player Kobe Bryant, several details had emerged about the former NBA player and the beautiful moments he had before the tragic incident.
Bryant died on Sunday, January 26, in a helicopter crash that also claimed the lives of eight other people including his daughter's, Gianna.
The legendary basketball player had already made plans for Gianna to follow in his legendary footsteps by filing to trademark her very own hoops nickname Mambacita.
Bryant, who was nicknamed Black Mamba, filed the paperwork for his daughter's nickname on December 30, 2019.
The paperwork indicated that the plan was to put Mambacita on all sorts of sportswear, shirts, shorts, hats, jerseys, sweatpants, sweatshirts and hoodies.
Reacting to the death of Kobe and his daughter, Rene Hernandez on Facebook said: "I am sure Vanessa will trademark her name in their legacy. Praying for the families of all who were affected."
