The Kaizer Chiefs have been handed down a transfer ban, meaning they won't be able to register players for the next two windows, eNCA reported.

The Kaizer Chiefs responded to FIFA's ruling on Monday, adding it would challenge the decision before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

In a statement issued on Amakhosi's official website, the club said:

"The Club and the player have received a correspondence from FIFA Disciplinary Committee concerning the Malagasy player Adriamirado Aro Hasina Andrianarimanana.
"Kaizer Chiefs will lodge an appeal before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in accordance to article 58 par. 1 of the FIFA Statutes."

Social media users were left divided on FIFA slapping the Chiefs with a ban.
