Anele Mdoda had peeps taking a second look at the Oscars rehearsal, and not for good reason either. When you representing the entire African continent, you put in a little more effort than wearing your silky jim-jams!

This was not Anele’s first time representing Africa at the Oscars. Last year she dressed to impress and that’s why this year’s shocker hit so hard – nobody expected it!

Briefly.co.za learnt that Anele’s purple satin fork had the entire continent questioning her sanity – gurl, whoever said that looked good was obvs thinking you were attending a PJ party, not the Oscars.

Anele was in Los Angeles for the Oscars as she was once again selected to host MNet's red carpet. Our gurl was rubbing shoulders with the likes of Brad Pitt, Charlize Theron and a bunch more A-list celebs. Yoh, saying that makes her wardrobe mishap hit so much harder…

Sharing snaps of her rehearsal outfit choice, Anele had people calling for a continental inquiry: that right there is a criminal offence!

Social media flooded with messages of distress from the people of Africa. Shame, Anele raised peeps blood pressure with that frilly purple satin nightie-looking number, thank goodness it was only for the rehearsal.

Anele straight out told the irrational haters to chill, because she absolutely rocked it at the actual event, and that’s really all that matters, right?
