Thapelo Morena has been discharged from hospital following a successful surgery. The Mamelodi Sundowns footballer opened up about the support he received after the injury and how he felt.
Over the weekend, football fans watched in horror as Thapelo Morena suffered a painful injury during the Nedbank Cup match against SuperSport United.
The Mamelodi Sundowns released an official statement on Monday about Morena's recovery and revealed he had been discharged from hospital.
The statement revealed Morena had surgery on his leg on Sunday and he will be re-assessed in two weeks.
He is expected to be out for a couple of months after "twisting" his ankle but Morena is thankful for all the support and to be out of the hospital.
The speedster said:
"I’m feeling much better and I’m happy that I’ve been discharged. Thank you for all the messages of support. I am ready to start the process of healing.”
Briefly.co.za reported earlier that Wydad won over Pitso Mosimane and Mzansi football fans after their players sent Morena well wishes in a touching video.
