Briefly.co.za recently reported on the negativity and disrespect within local football according to Golden Arrow coach Steve Komphela.
It was therefore heartening to come across a tit-for-tat of a positive nature between Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane and Cape Town City midfielder Mark Mayambela.
Mayambela took to Twitter on Sunday to lavish praise on Mosimane and highlighted his achievements across the African continent.
The winger rounded off his tweet by saying: "You have rebranded the game to an extent of getting recognition and respect from big teams in Africa @TheRealPitso You have united Africa."
The beautiful compliment was not lost on the Brazilians mentor as he responded with kind words of his own.
Mosimane referred to Mayambela as 'magic feet' and revealed his admiration for his fancy footwork.
Briefly.co.za noted that the comments from both men drew a strong reaction.
SimoEl (@SimoHallabi) tried to woo Mosimane:
"As wydad fan, I really wish that you coach my team in the future! You rock coach."
Butiki J (@Shabangu_BJ) shared a cheeky response:
"Sir Pitso, I really wish u go all the way to the final of both Nedbank Cup & Caf and win them, just to for control. You are an achiever of note and your achievements are not going unnoticed, hence we see North Africa giving you all the respect while our own give praise 2 plumbers."
Simamkele Jobela (@JobelaStar) felt that Mosimane had contradicted himself:
"Lol funny that you admired what Prof has done in his career also what Makaringe did that night is what Prof specialises in sometimes."
