- The Mamelodi Sundowns have finally drawn an opponent in the lower divisions in the Nedbank Cup and Pitso Mosimane could not be happier
- The Brazilians are set to take on Vaal University in the final 16 of the Nedbank Cup
- Mosimane said it was about time they got a lower division opponent but added Vaal University should not be underestimated
Pitso Mosimane has been vocal about the Mamelodi Sundowns getting difficult matches in the Nedbank Cup while 'certain teams' drew 'easy' matches.
Last week, he complained when his team drew SuperSport United while the Chiefs got an easy opponent.
Briefly.co.za reported on Monday that The Brazilians' coach asked the PSL draw master Luxolo September to give his team Amavarara to face in the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup.
On Monday night, the last 16 in the Nedbank Cup were drawn and although the Sundowns did not get Amavarara, Mosimane's wish for an 'easier' team was fulfilled.
The Sundowns are set to take on Vaal University and Mosimane opened up about the draw.
“We have been waiting for an opponent in the lower divisions and we finally got it. You need to be careful what you ask for because you will get the shock of your life” said Mosimane.
The Sundowns coach said that although Vaal University is in the lower divisions, they should not be underestimated.
“The fact they eliminated Golden Arrows, a premier league team, means they are a good team. We think we have got a relief but we need to be careful” concluded Mosimane.
