South Africans were left confused, impressed and amused all at once. No one exactly knew what happened but they were wowed by the GTi-driving cop's skills.

However, others pointed out the "Mabena" officer in the police van at the back.

Twitter user, @Gmashaba3x, commented:

"Hahaha, Mabena never disappoints, falling down as always from the background van."

Another tweep, @Babsie_mT, wrote:

"Great drill they did. Handbrake turn done very well. Then a Mabena is spotted in the van behind, falling by himself and forgetting to pull up the handbrake." decided to investigate the clip to determine what led up to the filmed events. According to OFM, the video dated back to 2013 and was part of a police exercise.

Free State police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, confirmed the footage showed an exercise by the Welkom Flying Squad in 2013 and it was not linked to any incident.
