Yet another cash-in-transit heist has left a van blown up after it was bombed in Johannesburg on Tuesday. The criminals ambushed the vehicle and fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
According to police, the cash van was blown up by robbers driving in two Ford Rangers and a white Ford Kuga. They managed to escape the scene with some money.
According to TimesLIVE, just a day before, the driver of a cash-in-transit vehicle was shot in a heist in Kempton Park.
The occupants of the vehicles were armed with rifles and handguns. Social media users commented on a video of the aftermath shared online. Twitter user 54Alpha2 said:
"These thugs also use explosives AKs and automatic weaponry... to counter this get ex koevoet teams to transport cash... problem solved..."
"G4S is making thugs rich, each Monday a G4S money truck is attacked, kindly do something before this get out of control, your cars are always targeted."
