Durban-born interior designer, Sifiso Shange, has made it a point to represent his culture and background in all his designs.
After going through a dark period and drug addiction during his high school days, Shange managed to pull himself together just in time.
“I got to a point when I realised that substances don’t fix problems. I had to learn to deal with my problems and accept them,” he said.
Shange managed to get his Diploma in Interior Design and graduated Cum Laude from the Durban University of Technology.
That opened many doors for him and he was part of the Win A Home competition in 2016, he showcased his work at 100% Design in Johannesburg and in 2018 he was a featured exhibitor in the Design Indaba Emerging Creatives Programme.
Shange said he draws his motivation from people in general, as his designs always have people in mind.
His aim has always been to change people’s lives through design.
“I want to die knowing I have changed someone’s life. I would rather die a legend than live alone,” said Shange.
Shange is not only an interior designer but he is also a blogger, using his blog as a platform to share designs with international creatives.
