Leslie Lewis, a pregnant woman and mother of four, recently took to her Instagram page to handle criticisms about her large brood.
Lewis, who is pregnant with her fifth baby, revealed in her post that people were questioning how she could afford all of her kids, among other comments.
Briefly.co.za learnt that her post generated over 50 000 views and tons of comments at the time this article was published.
The entrepreneur and social media influencer said in an interview that she expected bad vibes, but she said that a recent comment about her latest pregnancy got her to share the post.
Lewis disclosed that a woman recently sent her hurtful messages assuming she must be on welfare and how she should be on birth control.
Lewis called out a double standard where large black and brown families are seen as broken and with parents unable to care for their kids while white large families are portrayed in a positive way.
Lewis uses her platform to uplift families and women of colour, and also the criticism as fuel to meet and exceed her personal and family goals.
