Fans of Sbahle Mpisane and Itu Khune were saddened when they learnt that the two had broken up.

Despite curious requests, Sbahle has remained quiet on what went down between her and the soccer star.

The two of them had been on and off for years, but they had moments that made it clear they cared deeply for each other.

After her silence, Sbahle finally spoke up and let fans in on the truth and it is much less dramatic than was expected.

In her mother's reality TV show, Kwa-MaMkhize, Sbahle answered the question of a family friend Tha Simelane about where Itu was.

Briefly.co.za gathered that Sbahle and Itu went their separate ways in December and she told him he's free to date whomever he wishes.

She was in a serious car accident that led to memory loss and Sbahle couldn't remember details such as when she and Itu had started dating.

The fitness bunnie didn't want to hold him back and decided to set him free, despite his support during her recovery.

"He became very supportive during my hospital stay as he would call me every day. It then came to a point where I took the decision to let him go and date someone else in peace."

Since then, Itu has started seeing Sphelele Makhunga and they welcomed their first child very recently.

The proud papa took to social media to share the first snap of him on daddy duty. His followers congratulated the star and his wifey on a safe delivery.
