They say one has to be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it.
The saying could be applicable to Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane after he jokingly pleaded for his team to be drawn against a lower league team in the Nedbank Cup.
Mosimane got his wish as Sundowns were drawn against Vaal University, but Briefly.co.za reported that the Brazilians mentor specifically asked to face Amavarara.
Mosimane's comments seem to have angered Amavarara chairman Lusapho Mzwakali, based on a report by SowetanLIVE.
In response, Mzwakali said, "Underestimate us at your own peril."
Mzwakali told the Sowetan: "He [Mosimane] must just stay in the tournament and not be kicked out, then he will find out for himself what Amavarara is all about. . We also want him here at home. Sundowns is our primary wish in the next round and we will not disappoint him."
However, there's still a long way to go before both Mosimane and Mzwakali get their wish.
Assuming Sundowns see off Vaal University, Amavarara will need to navigate a tricky away fixture to Black Leopards.
Amavarara did well to beat Super Eagles 2-1 in the opening round of the tournament.
