The presidency account shared the video on Twitter, showing a vibrant Masingita Shibambu getting ready for her big event tonight. The young girl from Matiyani village near Punda Maria Gate will headline this year's SONNA as an imbongi. She is set to deliver her poetry in her native tongue.
According to SowetanLIVE, she felt overwhelmed and excited about performing in front of the entire nation. She went on to say that she never expected to be in this position.
Shibambu said she got the call inviting her to perform a few days after she hosted a poetry competition at Malamulele Sports Gym.
