The Ndlovu Youth Choir is so proud of paid tribute to Joseph Shabalala. The Ndlovu Youth Choir sang their own version of Ladysmith Black Mambazo’s, Homeless.
At the age of 78, the music legend, founder of the Grammy award-winning group, passed away on Tuesday. Joseph’s health had not been good for a couple of years and five years ago he made the decision to retire from the group. His last moments were spend with his wife Thokozile.
Briefly.co.za learnt that the choir shared a video of their tribute to Baba Joseph Shabalala on social media. The heartwarming clip was accompanied by a caption in which they pledged to keep his music and memory love.
America’s Got Talent show of 2019 saw the choir rise to fame.
The moving interpretation has touched so many people and has been viewed over 8 000 times. The video has had very positive feedback from social media users with Felicia Mabuza-Suttle, South Africa’s first lady, giving it the thumbs up.
The reactions were goosebumps moments.
The funeral will be held in Ladysmith on 22 February.
