King Trump: US President calls himself a king and the peasants revolt

United States President Donald Trump called himself a king on Twitter when he quoted the famous American philosopher and writer Ralph Waldo Emerson.

The original quote reads:

“When you strike at a king, you must kill him.”

Trump wrote "the king", essentially calling himself king.

Trump doubled down on his innocence and called the trial:

“The Greatest Witch Hunt in American history!”

The US Twittersphere erupted in calls and demands that trump was "no king". The US has a history of kings and getting rid of them and more importantly inspiring other countries to revolt against their kings.

As such critics had a rich vein of historical culture to draw from for their criticism of Trump.
