Pitso Mosimane is one of the longest-serving and highly-rated coaches in Mzansi football, however, prior to becoming the outspoken Mamelodi Sundowns coach he had a propitious career as a soccer player.

On Sunday, Mosimane - who played for several teams including the Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns - took a trip down memory lane.

Mosimane posted a couple of snaps of himself in his soccer-playing days. One of the photos shows the coach in a football jersey.

"I remember the time you came as a young lad to Sundowns. What a player in your playing days. You were scouted while you were at school in Grade 11 by the Honorable Dr. Bra J Sono. Keep up the good work Pitso. May Allah grant u good health & more wisdom Insha-Allah. Alhamdulilah."
