- Bathobile Mlangeni has been making waves after details surrounding a R4 million heist went public
- The former security guard had casually strolled out of the depot with her stacks of cash stashed in refuse bags
- Mzansi was amazed at the casual ease with which the wanted criminal managed to make off with her loot
Bathobile Mlangeni strolled out of the depot one day, walking by unsuspecting co-workers with black bags filled with R4 million in cash.
Briefly.co.za gathers that the incident took place months ago, with police recently releasing more details in a bid to catch the woman.
SowetanLIVE reports that the 29-year-old had been on duty when the theft took place, using scissors to cut open two bulk cash bags.
The funds were then transferred into refuse bags, which Mlanengi loaded into a trolley before walking right out of the depot.
Police say the woman has disappeared since the incident and have been keeping an eye on her family just in case of any sudden lifestyle changes.
Mark Barret, SBV group CEO, commented on this embarrassing situation for the company:
“As a key service provider that ensures that cash is available for the citizens of South Africa, and as a responsible corporate citizen, we do not tolerate any crime and take all internal and external incidents in a serious light. If an incident does occur, we will focus our efforts together with the relevant authorities to ensure that the perpetrators involved are brought to justice."
But while the wheels of justice turn, Mzansi can't help but admire the woman who managed to rob a depot unarmed and without raising suspicion.
