- Taylor Swift's dad returned to his million-dollar penthouse to be confronted by an intruder
- The older man andthe burglar got into a scuffle and the criminal ran away
- Fortunately, Taylor's dad wasn't hurt during the scary incident
When people are facing a dangerous situation, the 'fight or flight' instinct kicks in, and it seems Taylor Swift's dad is the type to fight.
He returned to his luxury home, a penthouse in Vinoy Place Towers in Tampa worth $4 million (about R60 million), and found a strange man inside.
According to Tampa Bay Times, Scott Swift entered his home just after Terrence Hoover had climbed 13 floors via the emergency escape stairs to enter the apartment.
A fight broke out and Terrence took off and was arrested only last week, which is quite some time after the incident happened. It's not quite clear when the trespassing occured.
Briefly.co.za gathered that Terrence has a rather long list of arrests against his name, including aggravated battery, assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence and even kidnapping.
It looks like Scott was lucky to get off without any serious injuries.
It isn't known whether Terrence knew who the apartment belongs to and targeted it on purpose. Taylor doesn't live there.
According to the burglar's mother, he got lost looking for his estranged wife. She feels he should only be charged with a case of trespassing.
