A man has revealed that he is suing his ex-partner for R50 000 after he breached a contract to not cheat. According his social media post, both him and the now-former bae had signed an agreement that if either of them cheated, they would have to pay - literally.
Twitter user Staniel_Lemor shared the following post:
"Today Is a final judgement against my ex on terms of breach of promise, he thought I was joking when I made a cute contract (that he signed thinking gore ra dlala) that whoever cheats pays the other one R50k. The contract stands with his appended signature. Bag? Secured."
Many social media users thought he was joking, but he assured them that he was very serious and would get his money. He went on to say:
"He cheated. I found out. Got screenshots as my evidence then submitted to my attorney."
Twitter user ThandoClementyn said:
"If anything this should be common practice. It's wild how people break promises they made unprovoked. Make damn good use of that money."
"I'm gonna need a template of this contract."
"Relationships now come with such contracts? Yo!!!"
"Do you have his numbers, I want to help him invalidate the contract on public policy grounds? This clearly limits his freedom of movement and association. Also his right to equally cheat in peace like other children."
"I’d be a millionaire by now if I drafted such contracts with my past relationships."
