Unemployed former nurse sells oranges on the streets to keep afloat

A qualified nurse who remains without a job after completing school has been supported with an amount of R2,830.

The nurse, identified as Mary Ndoo Azure, has been selling oranges on the streets due to her inability to find a job.

Mary’s unfortunate story was shared by Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng who works with Crime Check Ghana.

In a post on Instagram, Oppong Kwarteng said the lady completed Zuarangu Nursing Training College in 2017.

He said he gave the nurse an amount of GHC1,000 (R2,837.38) after she visited their office to narrate her struggles.

Oppong Kwarteng urged the Ministry of Health to facilitate the posting of graduate nurses who are currently sitting at home.

Mary Ndoo Azure completed Zuarangu Nursing Training College in 2017, but she is yet to be posted to a medical facility,” he wrote.

Rather than stay home, she decided to find something to do. Her story touched us, so we invited her to our office and gave her one thousand cedis.
