A man has taken to social media to share his incredible journey of how he went from poverty after quitting his job to establishing a successful business.
Mr_BillTong took to Twitter to share his story. He resigned from his job in 2014 and registered his own construction company. He used his savings to pay off his debts.
"My girlfriend left me cause I didn't want to go back to working for someone else."
A year later, he was still not earning an income. He moved to Cape Town in the last quarter of the year.
He moved back home with his mother a year later. He contacted a company known as Arcelor Mittal. He was eventually called for an interview.
"I told him I didn't have an office and that I was working from home. He then told me that they don't really care if I work from my room."
The meeting/interview went well and a week later, he received his vendor number. The BBBEE department gave him a grant of R15k to start his project.
"The project went well, then I got a civil maintenance contract, I hired two more guys for the two-year contract."
He now has projects coming in monthly and is grateful for where his life is now. Social media users were inspired by his story. Twitter user Nwabi_0913 said:
"Please stop, my husband is going through the same I'm going nowhere cos I love him..."
"I can relate and I notice that running a company it's not as easy as we think. It will take you 5 years minimum to get your company up and running. I quit in the 2nd year because I had kids to take care of."
"My bro started his own company 2016, and since then nothing really concrete has come up. He keeps on hustling but is met with disappointment all the time. After reading this, I feel very positive about his hustle... Something will come up for him too. Thank you for sharing."
"Very inspirational, indeed God has never failed His own. He is faithful."
