Cassper Nyovest has expressed how saddened he was by the news of of US rapper, Bashar 'Pop Smoke' Jackson's death.

Cassper joins local celebrities and fans who have paid tribute to the young rapper on social media.

According to reports, the young rapper was ambushed by armed men in his Hollywood home. The men fired shots at the rapper fatally wounding him.

“Pop Smoke was just about to shake the room. No ways! This is sad. RIP young king,” Cassper wrote on Twitter.

Local rapper Stogie T reminded everyone of a significant quote, “It’s kinda dangerous to be an MC. RIP Pop Smoke", he wrote.

At the time of the rappers death, Briefly.co.za reported that the entertainment industry was reeling in shock after the brutal murder of the fast-rising 20-year-old rapper.

According to reports from Daily Mail, the music star was shot dead in what seemed to be a home invasion or robbery attack by two masked men at his home in Hollywood Hills.

It was gathered that shots were fired at the music star, who was at home at around 4:30am on Wednesday, 19 February.

It was said that the rapper was shot by the men who later fled on foot, leaving the entertainer in a critical condition.
