BI Phakathi was recently surprised by a man begging on the streets. After the pair engaged in conversation, he learnt that the man was from Nelspruit and could speak fluent isiZulu. They engaged in a conversation in the Nguni language before he gave him some money and parted ways.
The man said he ended up on the streets after his wife passed away. He shared that he was originally from White River in Mpumalanga and claimed to be very popular there. Phakathi gave the grateful man over R400 in cash. The beggar said he would use it for food and shelter. Social media users were impressed by the kindness of Phakathi.
