The start of the new year marked new possibilities for so many people and for Twitter user @Glen_Motete it was the start of what he thought would be a beautiful love story.

On 3 January, the tweep showed off his new bae, writing that he had finally found his queen.

"My Queen. Finally I've found Miss Wrong and turned her into Miss Right. God thank you. Dankie Free State."

However, it seems @Glen_Motete's happily ever after did not last long and he took to Twitter on Tuesday to take back "every word" he wrote in January.

"I witRdraw each and every word that I said here."

South Africans had questions on why the relationship ended so soon. Some of the tweeps felt sorry for him while others' reactions were not exactly comforting.

Twitter user, @andreastamu, commented:

"Miss Right went back to Wiss wrong."

Another tweep, @King_Phex, wrote:

"With that amount of gold in her mouth you should have suspected something."

Although it's not clear why their relationship ended, @Glen_Motete appears to be gutted by it.

Briefly.co.za previously reported on another heart-break story. A man was left devastated by his girlfriend, who dumped him after two years of dating.

According to his cousin, @anwurichi, who shared the story on Twitter, he took care of her and her family for two years, even giving her an allowance. After two years of dating, he proposed to her but a month later she called it off, stating she never loved him and was only there for what she stood to gain.
